18 Jul Top Places In The World I’ve Run
Running is one of the simplest ways to get a workout in when traveling. It requires almost no equipment to do it (the right adidas running shoes and shorts help, for sure) and it’s one of the best ways for you to learn a city and culture. Here’s my top seven favorite places I’ve run in (so far) in the world.
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Home of the Boston Marathon, Boston is one of my favorite cities in New England I was fortunate to call home for 10 years. With many memories of college, graduation, my first jobs in the advertising and creative industry, my puppy Pepina and some of the most beautiful fall landscapes I can remember, Boston is truly an incredibly diverse city.
Favorite routes:
- Hanover Street and along the water on Commercial Street in the North End
- along the Charles River
- through Kenmore Square
- in the heart of Cambridge along Harvard

LONDON, ENGLAND
One flight in to Heathrow Airport and you can already tell from the birds-eye view it’s going to be an incredible city with trails to explore. I last visited London celebrating my 20-year cancer free anniversary and really had the opportunity to explore various run routes in the early morning sunrise with my expert runner husband, Chad.
Self proclaimed, a mother city to Boston, London’s cobblestone streets met with modern architecture and build creates an awe and exploration with each turn of your selected trail.
Favorite routes:
- Thames River near the Victoria Tower Gardens
- Constitution Hill through the Green Park
- Hyde Park along Kensington Palace
- Covent Gardens to Thames River and Mayfair and back…everywhere in between

MIAMI, FLORIDA
Another city I had the joy of calling home for many years, Miami and Miami Beach was my tax-haven home for over eight years. Admittedly, I taught yoga in Miami more than I ran to start, I later became quite a runner towards my latter years, exploring the artistic trails of downtown to the coast of the beaches seaside.
Favorite routes:
- Miami Beach Boardwalk, anywhere from South Pointe to Mid-Beach high 40’s
- Wynwood Walls Art District
- Key Biscayne, from the entry to the Lighthouse
- Venetian Causeway

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK
How can one not love a gridiron? Aside from the trash that muddles the sidewalks (which I hear New York City is now implementing trash and perhaps recycle bins to keep it tidy), the streets are endless to explore on foot and full of entertainment and things to see on your run. Plus, it’s New York City — the city that never sleeps, but I can promise you, it’s pleasantly quiet first thing in the morning before the bustle begins.
Favorite routes:
- Central Park, from the main entry of W59th through the Met
- Along the Hudson River
- The High-Line
- over the Brooklyn Bridge and back

ISTANBUL, TURKEY
A memorizing city that straddles the Bosphorus Straight, connecting Egypt and Asia, Istanbul, Turkey was one of the most “surprise and delight” cities I’ve ever been to. On a wellness tourism adventure, I had the opportunity to visit Istanbul for my first time back in 2022 on a solo adventure. Incredibly safe and affordable, I loved the hills, new city, old city and all in between of this antique mystique.
Favorite routes (not the easiest names to pronounce, but google search and you’ll find it):
- From Kuruçeşme all the way to Tarabya, along the Bosphorus Straight
- Near Tarihi Yarımada, the Historical Peninsula
- Belgrade Forest and Aydos Forest
- Hills of Galata Tower and “Old Town”
Favorite travel snacks and fuel for running, stored in the adidas womens mini tote.
Es Vedrá, Ibiza, Spain
IBIZA, SPAIN
Not the party island you may think it to be, Ibiza is rich in spirituality and well-being. Topping off my 20-year cancer free anniversary in this energetic vortex, the hills of Cala Llonga were by far my favorite to see the sunrises. Go early, as the heat here can be unbearable in the daytime.
Favorite routes:
- Cala d’Hort overlooking Es Vedrá
- The Hillside of Cala Llonga
- Waterfront and side streets of Ibiza Old Town
- Ferry over to Formentera, anywhere beachside here
