18 Jun LOS ANGELES | What’s In My Wellness Travel Bag
Back to (acting) school! LA bound and on an actor mission. As you know, I’v gotten back into acting over the past year and half since the start of COVID. Taking that quarantine time to inquire deep within, doing some inner child and personal passion work, I realized that I never really pursued acting further after college because I didn’t really think it was a “career” that I could pursue.
Like many artists, I put acting and art in the backseat to go after a degree in advertising, communications and design. But, given this chance and my personal values to live without regrets, if not now, then when?
A lot has happened in the past 18-months, and making quite a few connections and landing agents coast to coast has been a few of my successes. So, off to Los Angeles for a few weeks to network, audition, get back into some acting classes, and get a feel for the West Coast land.
LA can be very desert-like. Temperatures in May and June range from low 60s to high 70s. My flight time from Miami (MIA) to Los Angeles (LAX) 5 hours and 20 minutes.
So, when packing, what does one bring on such an adventure? Here’s what I packed in my wellness travel bag as I flew to LA on this trip of passion pursuit:
1. R.Y.V. AIRLINER BAG
A new favorite carry-on storage bag for my electronics, I can store a smaller laptop, or iPad and charging gear, and even some snacks to have on board in the adidas R.Y.V. Airliner Bag. Made from recycled content helping to end plastic waste, with a top and front zip for extra stowage.
2. [U] BY UAG LUCENT SERIES IPAD COVER
Travel and electronics are not always the safest paring. Like a suitcase, things get bumped around in transit. I’m a big fan of the [U] by UAG Lucent Series, empowering women in sports, tech and on-the-go.
3. ADICOLOR CLASSICS CROP HOODIE
I have a slight obsession with both this adicolor Classics Crop Hoodie in Halo Blue color and hoodies, I’m layered for the flight. Whenever I’m flying, it’s the ideal time to be cozy and get down to some writing and work (and the occasional movie). Soft on the inside with French terry cotton, which supports sustainable cotton farming with the intention to end plastic waste.
4. OUTLINE RELAXED HAT
I’m all about the added coverage with flying these days, and a hat has become a new must in my carry-on for over a year now. Something about wearing a cap just makes me feel more cozy on a plane and allows me to get into my own world for writing. And, did I mention I’m adidas blue obsessed? In love with this Outline Relaxed Hat from adidas. Yep, falls into that category.
5. JOBY MOBILE GEAR KIT
There has been a huge uptick in online and virtual auditions over the past year. Productions and castings are starting to pick back up and open fast, the callbacks and auditions happen anywhere and everywhere for me — which is a great thing! On this trip alone, I had three virtual auditions, so having my JOBY Mobile Gear Kit with me, ready to film is a must.
6. STASHER SILICONE SNACK BAGS
My mom gave me a set of these Stasher Silicone Snack Bags for Christmas years ago in a stocking and I have been traveling with them ever since. They’re made of a durable silicon that can be heated in a microwave, chilled in a freezer or stored air-tight even at room temp. These are fantastic for storing fruits such as grapes or apple slices for the plane, or I usually have a few of these with raw, unsalted pumpkin seeds or almonds.
7. ADICOLOR CLASSICS 3-STRIPE SHORTS
Chill nights and warm days in LA, in addition to a workout, these shorts are perfect for hiking in the hills or lounging or taking Zoom calls at home in the apartment.
Color-matched with the crop hoodie and hat mentioned above, I tend to colorblock my clothing for travel, allowing me to mix and match easier while packing less, like in these adicolor Classics 3-Stripe Shorts. Bring on the Halo Blue!
8. CANUKKA GLOW ENZYME MASK
My skin gets destroyed when I travel, which is why when Cannuka reached out to me on social media to see if I was interested in testing out their line of products, I knew this would come in handy for the dry temps and lack of humidity on the plane and in LA. Made from Cannibis and Manuka honey to restore, heal and glow, they even have travel sizes.
9. ADIDAS RECYCLED STAN SMITH SHOES
Los Angeles is known to be one of the more eco-conscious cities, and the adidas Reclycled Stan Smith Shoe line is a part of adidas’ Primeblue line, a performance recycled material made using upcycled plastic waste collected from beaches and coastal regions. An all-around shoe that I love from plane, to walking the hills of LA, getting to auditions, or heading to a vegan cafe.
10. ADICOLOR SLICED TREFOIL RACERBACK TANK TOP
Spice it up, or dress it down, this adicolor Sliced Trefoil Racerback Tank Top can be worn for a workout or paired with jeans. Also made from recycled materials, with a two-tone color including the Halo Blue mentioned earlier.
11. BOSE SLEEP BUDS II
If you’re not sleeping well, your entire well-being is thrown off balance. I had the earlier version of these sleep buds and was eager to try the Bose Sleep Bud II version to nix out any city traffic, or a snoring/singing partner in the evening hours.
12. BUSINESS CARDS
You never know where you may meet the right person at the right time to make it in Hollywood, so I always have a business card handy to share. Sure, there’s social media and handles, but handing a Producer that you’ve just connected with in Business class or auditioned for a professional-looking card with a headshot and QR code linking to all of your contact information and reel can leave a lasting impression.

Looking back, Los Angeles has been an accomplishing trip for both work and for play. With quite a few connections and friends on the West Coast, I know I’ll be back very soon, and the bi-coastal roots continue to develop deeper and stronger. See you on the red carpet!
Now, on my flight back to Miami, the question is: where will this wellness-focused traveler head off to next?
