Handstanding Tip – Why I prefer the split leg approach

Teaching Tip (and a little #tbt to last week) Thursday ✌?️

When handstanding, or attempting most inversions—such as forearm stand and headstand—I teach (and suggest) finding your balance first with split legs rather than leaping up with legs together.

Why? You’re able to find your center of gravity first in the pelvic region using stabilization, stacking of the bones, and core strength, instead of solely relying on faith and momentum.

Was this helpful? And, would you like a video breakdown of this? Please comment below!

Grateful to experience the outdoor space and sun’s energy while visiting Akumal Bay Resort and Spa last week in Tulum.
