01 Aug 5 Easy Ways to Cut a Whole Watermelon
There are just about as many ways to cut a watermelon as there are to say “tomato” (give or take, try it with an accent). Here are my top five easy ways to cut up a whole watermelon, leaving you plenty of creative space to serve for any occasion.
1. PIE CUTS
Cut a melon in half, then again in quarters. Cut two to three pie slices and serve on a platter. Voila!

2. COOKIE CUTOUTS
From a 1” circle slice of a melon, grab your favorite cookie cutter that’s at least 1” in thickness and get cutting! Fun for creating holiday or special event shapes for kids, and (ahem) adults.

3. MELON BALLS
Using a half or quarter of a melon, a melon baller creates elegant and easy to eat scoops. For a great appetizer idea, you can place on a toothpick with a melon ball other globe-shaped fruits (think grapes, blueberries, etc.) or pair with complimentary food items.

4. JULIENNE SLICES
Such a fun, fast and easy way to serve and share! Cut a melon in half, or one quarter. Making 1” grid slices vertical, then horizontal to create this easy, mess-free way to eat this delicious fruit.

5. DICED + CUBED
A tried and true version, you can cut the cubes by slicing off the edges first (see video below), or use the tower method above, then slice off edges, and dice in to cubed pieces for serving.
